The Company

SDP Technology Limited (SDP) is a Melbourne based Biotechnology Company, focused on commercialising technology developed over a period of 10 years by scientists at the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS) in South Australia. The technology is centred on inhibitors of sphingosine kinase 1 (SK1) and has high prospects for commercial development.

SK1 is an enzyme which has been strongly implicated in a range of disease states, particularly in the development and progression of cancer. The know-how, technology and patents developed at the IMVS provide a solid foundation, and a strong competitive advantage, for the identification of small molecule inhibitors of SK1 for development as a new class of anti-cancer drug. All available evidence suggests that such compounds would have the potential to treat a wide range of cancers, including those of highest incidence (e.g. prostate, lung, breast and colon cancers).

SDP has entered into a commercial relationship with Medvet Science Pty Ltd (Medvet), the commercial arm of IMVS, to secure an option to acquire an exclusive world-wide licence to the SK1 know-how, technology and patent portfolio, and is funding the continued development of these assets.

SDP has established a focused development program with milestones and anticipated value uplift points.

The milestones are expected to provide the company with the opportunity to:
1.    secure significant grant funding from government and other bodies; and
2.    commence early stage partnering and licensing discussions with large Biotechnology and large Pharmaceutical companies, with tangible evidence from identified drug candidate(s).

Government grants will provide the company with non-dilutive funding, while commercial arrangements are intended to provide the company with milestone-linked income as well as potential on-going royalties on the ultimate sale of products based on the technology.

SDP will seek to list on a stock exchange within the next 2 - 4 years, subject to appropriate advice and approvals. Alternatively, SDP will consider a trade sale, should an attractive offer emerge.
